Requesting to Add or Remove Access to Shared Mailbox

Issue/Question

These people need access to a shared mailbox

I lost my access to a shared mailbox

I need access to my department email

I no longer need access to these shared mailboxes

Remove my access to the shared email account

Add someone to Department Inbox

Environment

  • Office 365 Shared Mailbox
  • USD Department Account
  • USD Student Org Account
  • USD Faculty Org Account
  • Rapid Identity
  • Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Resolution

Note: You cannot request access for yourself

Note: If you already have access to the Shared Mailbox you can view the mailbox by following these instructions

Note: If you want to view the mailbox in a web browser see Viewing Shared Mailbox in Outlook Online

  1.  Please contact the Service Desk with the following information: 
    1. The name of the shared mailbox
    2. The name of the employee(s)
    3. What level of access they should have
      1. Full Access
      2. Send As access
      3. Send on Behalf of access
