How to request a departmental, organizational, or shared email address
How do I go about setting up an email address that multiple people will receive emails from?
I would like to set up an email for our department

- Office 365 Shared Mailbox
- USD Department Account
- USD Student Org Account
- USD Faculty Org Account
- Rapid Identity
- Microsoft 365 Admin Center
Resolution
Note: ITS no longer supports accounts and shared passwords, we can only provide a shared email address
- Review Departmental or Shared Mailbox service to see an overview and benefits of using a department or shared mailbox
- Click the Request Dept/Shared Mailbox link on this page to request an mailbox
- In the Request Form enter the following information
- Enter text for a display name in Requested Name
- Enter new account’s email address in Requested Email Address
- Select the requesting Department
- Enter a reason for the requested email address under Purpose
- List the names of the people who need to access the mailbox
- Click REQUEST ACCOUNT
Note: Expected turn around time on this type of request is 10 days
