I am having trouble logging into my USD account. I have forgotten my password and need help to reset it

Resolution

Note: Your university password provides you with access to many network resources. To protect your privacy and data from being compromised it is important that you choose a password that will be difficult for others to guess. 

You will need the following to complete the password reset

• First and Last Name 
• Identity Verification:
  • Mobile device with Duo
  • Date of Birth (DOB)
  • Street address 
  • Banner ID number (Student ID)
  • Email address

Password Reset Steps

1. Browse to Password Reset  aka.ms/sspr
   • Enter your USD email address
   • Enter the characters in the picture
   • Click Next
2. Verification step
   1.  Please choose the contact method we should use for verification:
      • Alternate email:  
      • Text my mobile phone
      • call my mobile number
3. Choose a new password  Password Requirements and Best Practices
   1. Enter new password
   2. Confirm new password
   3. Click Finish

Message no Authentication methods set

1. Call the Service Desk 
   •   605-658-6000 or 877-225-0027
2. We will verify identity
3. Technician will assist you in resetting your password

If you have a Vendor account

1. Please contact the Service Desk with the following information
   1. Account name
   2. Phone number

Password Requirements

• Minimum length of 8 characters
• Must not be one of your previous passwords
• Must contain a character from 3 of the 4 following categories
  • Uppercase letter
  • Lowercase letter
  • Number
  • Special character
