Connecting to Eduroam WiFi

How do I connect to eduroam wireless network

Windows OS

1. Click eduroam in the wireless network list
2. Click Connect
3. Type your full USD email address and password into the username/password fields, full first.last@usd.edu or full first.last@coyotes.usd.edu 
4. Click OK
5. Click Connect
   Note: If you get the error Cant connect to this network, try again.  You may need to do this a few times
6. Click Continue
7. Your device will now be registered on the network

macOS

Note: Newer versions of macOS may time out while entering information.  Do the steps below in the Wifi Settings window.

1. Click eduroam in your wireless network list
2. Type your full USD email address and password into the username/password fields, full first.last@usd.edu or full first.last@coyotes.usd.edu 
   Note: Using Copy/Paste to enter your information may assist with the time out issue
3. Click Join
4. Click Continue
5. Approve the Update Settings if the computer requests it
6. If you have a previous connection to eduroam from another school
   1. Open Settings
   2. Click Profiles
   3. Remove eduroam profile
      Note: Additional steps may be necessary. See Removing Eduroam Profile on macOS 

Android/Chromebook

Note: Android settings can be found in various places depending on your device.  Some may be found under Advanced Settings
Note: If you have problems with the following instructions, turn your phone to Airplane mode and turn wireless back on

1. Tap eduroam in your wireless list
2. The following information should be set
   Note: Do not use Randomized MAC. Use Phone MAC
   1. EAP Method - PEAP
   2. Phase 2 authentication - MSCHAPV2
   3. Certificate - Do not validate
   4. Identity - Type your full USD email address and password into the username/password fields, full first.last@usd.edu or full first.last@coyotes.usd.edu ​​
   5. Password - USD password​​​
   6. If it asks for a domain
      1. domain - usd.edu
      2. Identity - full first.last@usd.edu or full first.last@coyotes.usd.edu
3. Tap Connect
4. Your device will now be registered on the network
    

Google Pixel and Other Newer Android phones on Android 11 (Specific)

1. Tap eduroam in your wireless list
2. The following information should be set
   Note: Do not use Randomized MAC. Use Phone MAC
   1. EAP Method - PEAP
   2. Phase 2 authentication - MSCHAPV2
   3. CA Certificate - Use system certificates
   4. Online Certificates Status - Request Certificate Status
   5. If it asks for a domain
      1. domain - usd.edu
   6. Identity - Type your full USD email address and password into the username/password fields, full first.last@usd.edu or full first.last@coyotes.usd.edu​​
      Note: If you have an older style username please still use your full first.last email address​​
   7. Password - USD password
      Note:  Anonymous - Delete this line if it auto populates so the line is blank​​​
3. Tap Connect
4. Your device will now be registered on the network
5. If you set your device to airplane mode, you can turn off airplane mode

iOS

Note: If you have problems with the following instructions, turn your phone to Airplane mode and turn wireless back on

1. Tap Settings
2. Tap Wi-Fi
3. Tap eduroam
4. Type your full USD email address and password into the username/password fields, full first.last@usd.edu or full first.last@coyotes.usd.edu
   Note: If you have an older style username please still use your full first.last email address​​
5. Tap Join
6. Tap Trust
7. Tap Continue
   Note: If you have previously connected and you get the error Unable to join the network "eduroam" forget the network and try again
8. Your device will now be registered on the network
9. If you set your device to airplane mode you can turn off airplane mode
