Problem Connecting to WIFI or Connection Dropping

No Internet access
Could connect to wifi but won't work for any webpages
Zoom disconnects and has a bad connection
Eduroam is not listed under available networks
Error: No Wi-Fi Networks are Found
Eduroam works on my phone/laptop but will drop connection in certain areas, such as the dorms
Wireless issue in [n] (where [n] is a room number)
Not connected to the network

Forget Other Networks and Reconnect

1. Forget This Network and reconnect
   • You should be connected to the eduroam network except when using wireless only gaming device
   • To forget other networks:
     1. Click the Wireless Icon on your computer or phone
     2. Right click or press hold on SDVisitor
     3. Choose forget this network
        • Repeat steps b & c for any other network you are connected to
   • Connect to the Eduroam wifi network, Connecting to eduroam
2. Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, Playstations 1-5. The supported method of connecting these devices is via ethernet cable.  See article Registering Gaming Systems to connect these devices

Update Wireless Driver

1. Connect computer to network
   Note: Use wired connection if necessary
2. Right click 
3. Click Device Manager
4. Click  beside Network adapters
5. Right click the wireless card entry
6. Click Update driver
7. Click Search automatically for updated driver software
8. Connect to wireless network

Reset Wireless network card

1. Right click 
2. Click Device Manager
3. Click  beside Network adapters
4. Click the wireless card entry
5. Press DELETE
6. Click Uninstall
7. Restart the computer
   Note:  System will reinstall the wireless card
8. Connect to wifi network again

Manually configure wireless connection

1. Click 
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Network and Internet
4. Click Network and Sharing Center
5. Click Set up a new connection or network
6. Click Manually connect to a wireless network
7. Click Next
8. Enter or select the following
   1. Network name: eduroam
      Note: eduroam must be lowercase
   2. Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
   3. Encryption type: AES
9. Click Next
10. Click Change connection settings
11. Click the Security tab
12. Click Settings next to Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)
13. Click Configure... next to Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)
14. Remove the checkmark next to Automatically use my Windows Logon name and password (and domain if any)
15. Click OK
16. Click OK on all open dialog boxes
17. A notice will appear requesting additional logon information
    1. Enter your USD email address into the Username field
    2. Enter your USD password into the Password field
18. Click OK
19. Open your internet browser
20. Click I accept the terms on the Authentication page
21. Your connection should register in a few minutes

Adjust Power Management

1. Right click on the battery icon in the lower right hand corner by the clock
2. Click on Power Options
3. Click on Change plan settings
4. Adjust the time in the drop downs to increase all 4 options
5. Click Save changes
