The Office of the Registrar serves as the institutional guardian for official academic information and records in supporting the faculty, staff and students of the University of South Dakota.

- You should first apply for your intended degree program,
- Find the correct application using the usd.edu/apply page
- There are special applications based on which type of student you wish to become, i.e. undergraduate (two-year associate degrees and four-year bachelor’s degrees) or graduate (i.e. master’s, specialists, and doctorate degrees)
- If you need help figuring out which application to complete, please contact the Office of Admissions at 605-658-6200 or 1-877-COYOTES
- Upon acceptance, you will work with your advisor to get registered for courses
- Non-Degree Seeking
- If you wish to take a course as a non-degree seeking student, you should complete the Non-Degree Seeking application
- If you know which course(s) you would like to take, you can enter the course(s) on your application
- If you don’t know what course(s) you would like to take, you can ask to be contacted on your application and someone from admissions will follow up with you
