Fax Machine Hasn't Been Receiving Faxes

Issue/Question

Our fax machine hasn’t been receiving faxes. Please send someone to look at it.

Resolution

Note:  ITS only supports Fax on Toshiba Multifunction Copiers. All other requests on Vermillion campus should be directed to Facilities Management for support. Problems with the fax phone lines at the Yankton Med campus should be handled by Avera.

  1. Find manual and follow steps to set the fax phone number
  2. Contact sender and have them verify that other machines are able to receive their faxes
  3. Test phone line for dial tone
  4. Unplug the phone line and plug it back in
