Resetting Phone Voicemail PIN

Issue/Question

Can't listen to voicemail with passcode/pin

Voice mail not accepting passcode/pin

I cannot delete my messages

Can I get my phone password reset

Environment

  • Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone
  • Voicemail

Resolution

  1. If the PIN has never been changed, it is likely still the default PIN
    1. If you are unsure of the default PIN, please proceed with resetting below or contact the Service Desk so they can provide you with default PIN
  2. Go to https://voicemail.usd.edu/inbox 
    Note:  You must be on campus, or connected to the VPN to access this resource
    1. Enter your credentials
    2. Click Settings
    3. Select Preferences
    4. Select Personal
    5. Click Passwords
    6. Choose Change Pin
      Note: You will not be able to change it again for 24 hours
    7. Enter a 5 digit PIN
    8. Enter the 5 digit PIN again
    9. Click Save
  3. If the PIN has been changed from the default and is for a main department line, contact the Service Desk for a manual PIN reset
  4. If you do not have a USD account, contact the Service Desk for a manual PIN reset
