Inserting a Text Control in Word

Question

How do I insert a text control in Word?

Answer

  1. On the Developer tab, in the Controls group, click the Rich Text control or the Text control, these are shown as Aa
  2. Your word document should then show the text control
  3. Select Rich Text if you want to maintain formatting
    •  for example, if a user is going to copy and paste text and you want the user to be able to maintain bold or italics, you would need to use rich text
  4. Select Plain Text if you simply need the information in that field and formatting is not an issue
