Question
How do I create a template in Word?
Answer
- Open a new, blank Word document
- Make whatever changes you want (margin settings, page size and orientation, styles, etc.)
- You can also add instructional text, content controls such as a date picker, and graphics that you want to appear in all new documents that you base on the template
- If you insert a Date & Time command (in the Text group in the Insert tab), the date and time will automatically be updated with the current date into the new document you are working with
- When you have your template set up how you want:
- Click File tab
- click Save As
- When the Save As dialog box open you can name your template
- You must also remember to select Word Template in the Save as type list
- Then, click Save
