Hyperlink to for existing file, document, or web page in Word

Question

How do I link to an existing file or document in Word?

Answer

  1. Select the text or picture that you want to display as the hyperlink.
  2. On the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Hyperlink. You can also right-click the text or picture and then click Link on the shortcut menu
  3. A dialog box will appear. You can choose to link to an existing file or web page, a place in the current document, a new document, or an email on the appropriate option in the Link to column.
  4. If you choose Existing File or Web Page, type the address that you want to link to in the Address box. If you don't know the address for a file, click the arrow in the Look in list, and then navigate to the file that you want.
