No Header Row Specified

Question

What do I do when I get the error No Header Row Specified?

Answer

When heading rows are not defined and non-sighted users may have difficulty identifying the meaning of data cells and how they relate to other data in the table. A table header row contains column headings that provide context and aid navigation pf the data in the table.

  1. Click Table in the Accessibility checker inspection results window
    • Microsoft Word will navigate you to the table that needs a header row specified when you click on it in the accessibility checker. The first row will be highlighted.
  2. Click on Table Tools located on the Microsoft Word Ribbon
  3. Click Layout
  4. Click Repeat Header Rows in the Data group

Your table now has specified and that error will automatically be removed from the Accessibility checker inspection results.
