Adding files to a Channel in Microsoft Teams

How do I add files to a channel in Microsoft Teams?

Answer

When adding files to a channel, these files should be specific to that particular channel. 

  1. Make sure the channel you want to add the file(s) to is selected from the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the Files tab
  3. Choose how you would like add the document
    1. New
    2. Upload
    3. Get link
    4. Add cloud storage
    5. Open in SharePoint

You can also add a file through Conversations

  1. Start with a conversation, then click on the paperclip to add your file to the conversation. By adding files through the conversation, they will also be stored in the files tab.
