How to change how subtotals are viewed in Excel?

Answer

Excel has numerous ways to alter the appearance of the PivotTable.  Another way is by changing how the subtotals appear.  To do this go to the Design tab and select the Subtotals icon. There will be a drop-down menu with three options. Select all three options to observe how it formats the subtotals on the pivot table.
