Changing the View of the Report in Excel

Question

How to change the view of the report in Excel?

Answer

As within all Microsoft Office programs there are numerous ways to do the exact same thing.  Below you will see three different ways to move different fields around to change the look of your pivot table data.

  1. Drop and Drag method:  Go to the Pivot Table Field List on the right side of the screen, click on the field name you would like to move.  Hold down the mouse and drag the field name into the desired field below (i.e. Report Filter, Column Labels, Row Labels, or Values).
  2. Right Click and move:  Go to the left side of the screen and click in the box of a field you would like to move.  Right click and select Move, and then choose Move Add to Column Labels.
  3. Right Click within the Pivot Table Field List:  Go to the right side of the screen in the Pivot Table Field List.  Select the field name you would like to move, right click and select Report Filter, Column Labels, Row Labels, or Values.
