Installing Panopto application on a computer

Environment

• USD computer

Cause

Need to record Panopto content from a computer

Resolution

Download and Install the Panopto Application in D2L

Note: If you have not already added Panopto to your D2L course, follow Adding Panopto to D2L

1. Sign into D2L
2. Choose your course
3. Click Content
4. Click Panopto
5. Click Panopto-USD
6. Click Create
7. Select Record a new session
8. Select download installer
9. Click Install

Download and Install the Panopto Application for Courses Not Using D2L

Note: This should be used for Med School and other courses not accessed through D2L

1. Navigate to usd.hosted.panopto.com
2. Select USD Login
3. Sign in with USD email address and password
4. Click Create
5. Click Panopto for Windows 
6. Select appropriate installer
     Note: Most USD Windows computers will use Windows 8.1 and up 64-bit
7. Run or Open the downloaded file
8. Click Next to accept default installation settings
9. Click Install
10. Click Sign in
11. In the Launch Application box, click Open link
