Connecting to SDVisitor Wireless Network

How do I connect to SDVisitor wireless network

Environment

• Windows OS
• macOS
• Android

Resolution

Note: SDVisitor is a limited access wireless network designed for non-USD affiliated individuals.  You should be connecting to eduroam if you are USD student, faculty, or staff

Note:  After proceeding with the e-mail based registration below, you will receive an email with the subject "usd.edu: Email activation required".  Click on the Activate Access button within the email to complete the registration process.  Failure to do so within 13 minutes of the initial registration will result in a termination of network access.

Windows OS

1. Click SDVisitor in the wireless network list
2. Click Connect
3. A browser window will pop up
   1. If browser does not open - navigate to https://nac.usd.edu
4. Click Guest signup
5. Choose your registration method
   1. SMS-based registration (text message)
      1. Type in phone number
      2. Chose provider
      3. Click Continue
      4. Type pin code that is sent
      5. Click Continue
   2. Email-based registration
      1. Type in non-USD email address
      2. Click Continue
   3. Login with your Facebook account
      1. Click I accept the terms
      2. Click Login
      3. Sign into Facebook Account
6. Your system is now being registered on the wireless network

macOS

1. Click SDVisitor
2. Click Join
3. Click Continue
4. Approve the Update Settings if the computer requests it
5. A browser window will pop up
6. Choose your registration method
   1. SMS-based registration (text message)
      1. Type in phone number
      2. Chose provider
      3. Click Continue
      4. Type pin code that is sent
      5. Click Continue
   2. Email-based registration
      1. Type in non-USD email address
      2. Click Continue
   3. Login with your Facebook account
      1. Click I accept the terms
      2. Click Login
      3. Sign into Facebook Account

Android

Note: Android settings can be found in various places depending on your device.  Some may be found under Advanced Settings
Note: If you have problems with the following instructions, turn your phone to Airplane mode and turn wireless back on

1. Tap SDVisitor in your wireless list
2. Open a web browser
3. Go to nac.usd.edu website
4. Tap Guest signup
5. Choose your registration method

      1. Type in phone number
      2. Chose provider
      3. Click Continue
      4. Type pin code that is sent
      5. Click Continue
   2. Email-based registration
      1. Type in non-USD email address
      2. Click Continue

      2. Click Login
      3. Sign into Facebook Account
6. Your system is now being registered on the wireless network

iOS

1. Tap Settings
2. Tap Wi-Fi
3. Tap SDVisitor
4. A browser window should pop up
5. Tap Guest signup
6. Choose your registration method
   1. SMS-based registration (text message)
      1. Type in phone number
      2. Chose provider
      3. Click Continue
      4. Type pin code that is sent
      5. Click Continue
   2. Email-based registration
      1. Type in non-USD email address
      2. Click Continue
   3. Login with your Facebook account
      1. Click I accept the terms
      2. Click Login
      3. Sign into Facebook Account
7. Your system is now being registered on the wireless network
