Issue/Question
A users needs to access voice mail option for a phone that has been migrated to Webex calling
Environment
- Webex
- voicemial
- Cisco 8851 phone
Resolution
- From a USD phone dial 605658
- You will be asked for PIN
- Enter * and the ten digit phone number you need to access the voice mail for
- You will be prompted for PIN - if you have not set up a PIN for the line enter 172839
- If this is the first time accessing, after you enter 172839 you will be prompted to create a new PIN - create a PIN following the standards below:
- Use 6–30 digits (needs minimum of 6)
- Use a variety of digits and avoid patterns
- The PIN cannot have the following:
- Repeat digit patterns (e.g. 121212 or 13571357)
- Use any of your last 10 voicemail PINs
- Use your current PIN in reverse order
- Use your phone number or extension
- Use the same digit more than 3 times in a row (e.g. 222211)
- Use more than 3 consecutive ascending or descending digits (e.g. 1234 or 9876)
- Use your phone number or extension in reverse order
- If accessing the first time, after you have created a new PIN, when it asks to record you name, enter what you would like the voice mail greeting to say
- When finished hit
- The voice mailbox menu items will be listed
