Cause

Office 365  gives access to the most recent versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other titles depending on platform. Under this program, current Faculty, Staff and Students may install the software on up to five devices/computers (University owned or personally owned) at no cost.

Resolution

Office 365 will remain active and usable for as long as you are current Faculty, Staff, or Student.  Based on Microsoft’s licensing requirements, it's not offered to past students who have graduated or leave USD.

Instructions

Note: If Office is already installed follow Sign into Office

1. Download Microsoft 365
   • Download for Windows
   • Download for macOS
2. Run the file that is downloaded
   • OfficeSetup.exe for windows 
   • Microsoft_365_Installer.pkg for mac

Note: The Yubico key may not work with Duo for the initial sign-in after installing Outlook.  Please contact the Service Desk for a Duo bypass code if you do not have another device for authentication. The Yubico key will work for sign-in after the initial setup.
