Outlook Calendar Freezing/Not Responding When Editing Public Calendar

Issue/Question

My Outlook calendar is freezing up when I try to enter or edit appointments in Public Calendars

Environment

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Public Calendars
  • Windows 10

Cause

COM Add-in(s)

Resolution

Remove Com Add-ins

  1. Click File
  2. Select Options
  3. Select Add-ins
  4. At bottom of window - Manage COM Add-ins Click GO
  5. Uncheck all checked boxes
  6. Click OK
  7. Close Outlook
  8. Open Outlook

Restore Add-ins
Note: Restore the add-ins one at a time until the problem does occur to determine which add-in is causing then problem then follow the steps above to uncheck the problem COM Add-in

  1. Repeat the above Steps 1-4 
  2. Check first COM Add-in listed
  3. Click OK
  4. Close Outlook
  5. Open Outlook and test
  6. Repeat steps 1-5
