Exporting and Importing Outlook Email

Issue/Question

I will need my email archived to somewhere my replacement has access to 

Environment

  • Outlook 365
  • Windows

Resolution

Export Email

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click File
  3. Click Open & Export
  4. Click Import/Export
  5. Select Export to a file
  6. Click Next
  7. Select Outlook Data File (.pst)
  8. Click Next
  9. Select the desired folders to export 
  10. Click Next
  11. Enter a name for the file under Save exported file as:
  12. Click Next
  13. Click Finish

Import Email

  1. Click File
  2. Click Open & Export
  3. Click Import/Export
  4. Select Import from another program or file
  5. Click Next
  6. Select Outlook Data File (.pst)
  7. Click Next
  8. Browse to the exported file under File to import
  9. Select desired option for handling duplicates under Options
  10. Click Next
  11. Select the destination folder
  12. Click Next
  13. Click Finish
