Issue/Question

When creating a meeting within Outlook it automatically adds a Teams Meeting and changes my location.

Removing Microsoft Teams Meeting Information from Outlook Meeting Invites

How do I remove Microsoft Teams meeting information from Outlook meeting invites?

Every time I create an Outlook meeting invite, it defaults to a Teams meeting location with connection information in the meeting notes.

Environment

  • Microsoft Outlook

Cause

Teams add-in causing a Teams meeting to be created, Outlook can default to adding a Teams Meeting link to any meeting scheduled

Resolution

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click File
  3. Click Options
  4. Click Add-ins
  5. Click Go... next to Manage
  6. Uncheck box next to Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office
  7. Click Calendar
  8. Uncheck Add online meeting to all meetings
  9. Click OK
