Cause

An employee requests, or is assigned, telework work (also called remote work) or an alternative schedule.

Resolution

  1. The USD policy on telework/alternative work schedule may be found at: USD Telework Policy
  2. USD Vice President’s approve telework and alternative work schedules for employees
    1. Typically, the supervisor should obtain approval for the plans from the Vice President prior to approval of remote work or alternative work schedules
    2. Human Resources partners may be consulted for advice regarding the plans
  3. Once the details of the telework or alternative work schedules are finalized
    1. Review USD IT Security Standards for Teleworking
    2. Open the Telework Policy
      • The telework and alternate work schedule agreement forms are available in section 5
      • The appropriate DocuSign agreement needs to be initiated by the supervisor for the employee
      • The form will be signed by the supervisor, HR, the employee, and the Vice President
