Enabling Live Automatic Transcripts in Zoom and Starting Them


How do I enable Live Automatic Transcriptions in Zoom?

User must enable Live Transcriptions for their account and start for meetings they wish to use it in


These are the steps to enable Live Automatic Transcriptions for your account

  1. Log into Zoom at usd.zoom.us
  2. Click Sign-In
  3. Once in Zoom click on Settings (Under Profile along the left side)
  4. Scroll down to the In Meeting (Advanced) section
  5. Click Closed Captioning which is the 4th item under above section
  6. Click on the slider to turn on Live Captioning for your account
  7. A window will pop open that says Enable "Closed captioning"
  8. Click "Enable" to close that window
  9. Click Enable live transcription service to shows transcript on the side-panel in-meeting

After enabled: These are the steps the host does to start Live Automatic Transcriptions for any meeting

  1. Start your Zoom meeting
  2. In the Zoom in meeting controls you should see a CC button now that says Live Transcript
  3. Click that CC Button and select the bottom choice - Enable Auto-Transcript
