Sharing Outlook Calendar Outside the Organization

Issue/Question

How do I share my Outlook Calendar with an external user. I want to share details, not just free/busy times.

  • Gmail

Note: This type of calendar sharing must be done in the Outlook Web App

  1. Navigate to mail.usd.edu
  2. Click on the calendar  icon in the lower left-hand corner
  3. Next to the calendar, you want to share click the three dots ...
  4. Click Sharing and permissions
  5. Type the email address of whom you would like to share it too in the Outside your organization field
  6. In the drop-down  select Can view titles and locations or Can view when I'm busy
  7. Click Share

To receive via Gmail

  1. Open your Gmail
  2. Copy the link address ending in reachcalendar.ics
  3. Open Google Calendar
  4. Under Other calendars, select Add by URL from the dropdown menu
  5. Paste .ics link
  6. Click Add Calendar
  7. Done
