Is it possible to share files in OneDrive

How do I share a file or folder in OneDrive

How can I edit documents at the same time as someone the document is shared with

Environment

  • Onedrive for Business
  • Browser
  • Outlook

Resolution

Note:  Microsoft limits the size of the folder/file to be shared to 15gb

  1. Log into www.office.com/onedrive
  2. Select the file or folder you would like to share
  3. Select  Share
  4. Enter the names of people you would like to share with
    1. Click Only the people you specify will have access to edit
    2. Uncheck Allow Editing
      Note:  Allow editing is check by default. If you do not want the files/folders edited remove the check
    3. Click Apply
  5. Click Send
  6. If editing documents at the same time, open the documents in the web interface
