Changing Screen Sharing Settings in Zoom Meetings

Issue/Question

Students can no longer share their screen without being made the host of the Zoom meeting.  How do I fix this?

Environment

  • Zoom

Cause

Zoom changed the default screen sharing setting to Host Only to combat a rise in Zoombombing.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Zoom
  2. Click Sign In
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click In Meeting (Basic)
  5. Scroll down to Screen Sharing
  6. Change Who can share? to All Participants
    Note:     This can affect the security of the Zoom meeting.  For more information see Securing Zoom Meetings
