Environment
- USD Work Computer
- Working Remotely
- Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)
Cause
Some resources are restricted and can only be accessed from your work station
Resolution
Connecting to Computer
Note: Cisco AnyConnect must be successfully authenticated to access office computer or you must be on the USD network
- Find the Computer Name of the computer you wish to connect to
- From your current computer, open the Windows Remote Desktop Connection app
- Click Run or Search
- Type MSTSC
- Press Enter
- Type in the Computer Name obtained in Step 1
Note: This can be the "NI" tag or IP address of the office computer
Note: The computer you are connecting to must be turned on
- To connect multiple monitors if computer you are using and computer connecting to both have multiple monitors:
- Click Show Options
- Click Display
- Click to check Use all my monitors for the remote session
- Click Connect
- Enter your USD Credentials
Note: If using a personal computer you may have to click More Choices and enter usdlocal\ in front of your USD username
- Press Enter
Note: If asked to accept the certificate, check Don't ask me again for connections to this computer
- Click Yes
To Disconnect
- Right-Click on the icon on your Task Bar
- Click Disconnect
