Outlook Search Feature Not Working

My Outlook search feature is not working effectively.

Environment

Cause

 

Resolution

Windows

  Recreate Outlook Profile

  1. Close Outlook
  2. Click 
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Click Mail
  5. Click Show Profiles
  6. Click Add
  7. Type Your email address
  8. Click OK
  9. Select the new Profile Name from the drop down
  10. Click OK
  11. Open Outlook

  Add Shared Account

  1. Click File
  2. Click Account Settings
  3. Select Account Settings
  4. Click New
  5. Enter Your name
  6. Enter shared account email address
  7. Enter Your password
  8. Click Next
  9. Enter Your email address and password in the popup window
  10. Click SIgn In
  11. Click Finish
  12. Click OK
  13. Click Close
  14. Close Outlook
  15. Open Outlook

  macOS

  1. Recreate Outlook Profile
    Note: If that does not work, proceed to step 2
  2. Open Terminal
  3. Enter sudo mdutil -E /
  4. Press Enter
  5. Spotlight Search will reindex
    Note: This may take a while
