Panopto Requires Update

Issue/Question

When I launch Panopto to record a session, Panopto is saying that it out of date and must be updated

Panopto has released a new version and I would like to update to the latest version

Environment

  • Panopto
  • Windows

Cause

Panopto installed is out of date and needs to be updated to newer version

Resolution

  1. Go to USD Panopto site http://usd.hosted.panopto.com
    • Select D2L login if you are recording to D2L class
    • Select USD login if you are recording for Med class that is not in D2L
  2. Sign in with your username/password as you would for your email
  3. Click Create
  4. Click Panopto for Windows
  5. Click appropriate package from Panopto section and install

Note: If your Windows 10 version is 1511 you will need to update Windows 10 to a newer version as installation will fail with .net error
