EndNote Stopped Working with Word

Cite While You Write does not work

I had the latest version of office 365 installed on my laptop and now endnote does not show up in Word and I can not get it to work.

Environment

• EndNote x8/x9
• MacOS
• Microsoft Word
• Windows

Resolution

macOS

1. Click on the  menu
2. Click System Preferences
3. Click Security & Privacy
4. Click the Privacy tab
5. Click Automation
6. Make sure both Microsoft Word and EndNote X9 are both checked
7. Close and restart Word and EndNote

Windows

1. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\EndNote X8\
2. Right Click ConfigureEndNote.exe
3. Select Run as admin
4. Select Cite While You Write add-in for Microsoft Office
5. Click Next
6. Click Finish
