Requesting Extended Access to Course in D2L

Issue/Question

Requesting to access old class

Retrieving course Syllabus

I would like the final project from an old course

I received an extension on a course last semester and cannot see the course

I am requesting access to a previous D2L course

I didn't save this course material. Can I take this course back on my D2L?

Environment

  • Desire2Learn(D2L)

Cause

Requesting access to a course/course materials that are no longer available

Resolution

Students

Before Start Date:

  1. Courses can be made available up to 30 days prior to the start date if the instructor chooses to do so

Note: If students need to access earlier than is possible (more than 30 days before), the instructor needs to contact the CTL to change the access dates

After End date:

  1. Students requesting access to a course after its official end date will need to contact the Instructor or the department for extended access
Note: If the D2L course is closed, Instructors cannot "reopen" a course, but they can change the enrollment to Univ Student - Incom so students have access after the end date

Faculty

  1. Navigate to Course in D2L

  4. Search for user with Student ID or Name
  5. Place a check mark next to the person's name in the search results
  6. Select the Section
  7. Select the Role of Univ Student - Incom
  8. Select Enroll Selected Users
  9. Select Done
