Overview
The Archive Knowledge Base Articles service allows departments and knowledge contributors to request the removal of outdated, duplicate, or no longer relevant articles from the active knowledge base.
Archived articles are retained within the system for reference and audit purposes but are no longer visible in search results or user-facing portals. This aligns with knowledge life cycle practices where articles may be archived rather than deleted to preserve historical context and system integrity

Before You Start: Please have the following ready:
- The article link or ID
- A clear reason for archiving
- A replacement article link (if applicable)
Note: If you are submitting multiple at one time please download, complete and attach the Archive Articles.xlsx excel file.

Policies
- Articles are archived, not deleted, to maintain system records and preserve links/references where applicable
- Requests may require review/approval if the article:
- Is publicly visible
- Is categorized as compliance or policy-related
- Has high usage or is linked to multiple services/tickets
- Archived articles can be restored if needed
- Submitter must confirm that:
- The content is no longer accurate or needed
- No replacement article is required or a replacement is identified
