I need help setting up respondus lockdown for an upcoming exam
Answer
Within the quizzes portion of D2L, there are a variety of security and restriction options that can be utilized by course instructors. This section will explain how to enable LockDown Browser.
- Click on the Assessments > Quizzes tab from the navigation bar
- Click on the LockDown Browser tab
- On this screen, you can either watch a short video tutorial (3m20s) or continue straight to the LockDown Browser Dashboard.
- Clicking the Continue to LockDown Browser button will bring up a list of your quizzes. To the far right, you will see whether or not LockDown Browser is required.
- If you would like to enable LockDown Browser, select the drop-down arrow next to the quiz name and select Settings.
- Next, you will encounter a few Security Options. If you want improved security on the quiz, you will need to select the second radio button, Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam.
If students have not used this software before, they will be prompted to download it when they attempt the quiz ( Follow article Installing Lockdown Browser). This will require the student to use LockDown Browser when they open the quiz.
Within the LockDown Browser tab, you are able to enable/disable this option for each of your quizzes. Once this option has been selected, more options will appear.
If you wish to include a password, you will have to notify your students to type the password in order for them to access the quiz. Under the Advanced Settings heading, you can select whether to allow access to specific web sites or to add a calculator or printing options in the toolbar.
