Installing Lockdown Browser for Chromebook

Issue/Question

How do I install Lockdown Browser for chromebooks?

Environment

  • Desire2Learn (D2L) 
  • Respondus Lockdown Browser
  • Chromebook

Cause

Students will need to install Respondus Lockdown Browser for taking tests online 

Resolution

  1. Log into the Chromebook and start Google Chrome
  2. Log into D2L
  3. Navigate to the exam that requires LockDown Browser
  4. Click link for downloading and installing LockDown Browser
  5. From the Chrome web store, click Add to Chrome
  6. This will install LockDown Browser extension

    Note:  Linux and Chrome OS are not supported!
    While core functions of our online courses will work on most mobile devices & smartphones, other functions will not.  If using mobile devices—smartphones (e.g., an iPhone™), tablets (e.g., an iPad™), Chromebooks, You MUST have access to another computer.
