Adding/Removing user(s) from Distribution List

Issue/Question

Can you add a user to the all-staff distribution list

Can you remove a user from an email distribution list

How can I get an email group updated?

We have a new employee and need them added to distribution list

Environment

  • Email Distribution Lists:
    • staff@usd.edu
    • faculty@usd.edu
    • students@usd.edu
    • VermillionStudents@usd.edu
    • affiliates@usd.edu
  • USD Email 

Resolution

Note: Distribution Lists are managed by affiliations. Certain affiliations determine which Distribution Lists a person is in (example: staff, faculty, Stanford School of Medicine, etc).

Faculty/Staff/Affiliate:

  1. Check with your supervisor to make sure your payroll information was submitted, to be certain your information has been entered into Banner by HR
  2. Contact the Service Desk with the following information:
    1. Full Name and contact information 
    2. The email distribution List in question
    3. Brief description of the issue 
    4. Job Title and Department 

Student: 

  1. Verify that you are a current student
  2. Contact the Service Desk with the following information:
    1. Full Name and contact information 
    2. The email distribution List in question
    3. Brief description of the issue
