Syncing Problems with OneNote

Issue/Question

Cannot create or sync notes correctly

Environment

• OneNote
• OneDrive

Cause

OneNote and OneDrive do not always cooperate.  Syncing issues can occur depending on how the OneNote file is opened

Resolution

1. Save the file to OneDrive
2. Open the OneNote file directly from OneDrive rather than from the local synced copy
   1. Click File
   2. Click Open
   3. Click OneDrive - The University of South Dakota
   4. Click the folder containing the OneNote file
   5. Double click the OneNote file
