Question

How do I add a header or footer in Google Docs?

Answer

To insert headers and footers in your doc, click the Insert drop-down menu and click Headers & footers. Then, select either Header or Footer and type the text for your header or footer in the area within dotted lines.

To hide your header or footer, delete all the contents from it. Then, click anywhere in the main document editing space to continue working.
