Issue/Question

Outlook closing when sending or deleting emails

Outlook will not send items.  I also cannot delete anything

Outlook opens two windows

Trying to add Zoom meeting in Outlook opens a blank web page

Errors have been detected in the file C:\users\first.last\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\First.Last@usd.edu.ost.

Environment

  • Outlook 2013
  • Outlook 2016
  • Outlook 365

Resolution

  1. If able to open Outlook, try signing out of your Office account and then sign in again:
    1. Click File 
    2. Click Office Account 
    3. Click Sign out 
    4. Click Sign out
    5. Click Sign in and enter USD credentials
  2. Reboot the computer
  3. Uninstall Office and install the latest version of Office 365
  4. Delete Outlook .ost data file
    1. Close Outlook
    2. Open File Explorer
    3. Paste %localappdata%\Microsoft\outlook into the Address Bar
    4. Press Enter
    5. Find the .ost file that the error message reported, and delete it
    6. Start Outlook
  5. Recreate Outlook Profile
