How do I connect my Cisco 730 Headset to the Cisco 8851 Voice over Internet Protocol phone?

How do I connect my Cisco 730 Headset to my desktop?

Environment

  • Cisco 8851 VOIP phone
  • Cisco 730 Headset 
  • Windows

Cause

 

Resolution

  1. Turn headset on Note: The power button is on the L(eft) speaker
  2. Wear the headset on to listen to commands
  3. Hold the Power button up for ~2 seconds Note: This will put the headset into Bluetooth pairing mode, if you hold it too long it will reset bluetooth connections
    1. To connect to a PC that does not have Bluetooth, plug the included Bluetooth USB reciever into your machine Note: Advised to turn Bluetooth off of devices that the headset may also be connected to
      1. A Connected message will sound when connected
      2. If the receiver won't connect follow the I Can't Get the USB Adapter to Pair to My Cisco Headset 730 section of the Cisco Headset 730 User Guide
