Creating a Course Pack

Issue/Question

• How can I have a course pack created?
• I would like to provide my students with coursepacks

Environment

• Akademos Bookstore
• USD Instructors
• usd.textbookx.com (being replaced)
• USD Online Bookstore
• usd.edu/textbooks
• Verba Collect
• https://akademos-universitysouthdakota.verbacollect.com/

Cause

Coursepacks are generally custom compilations of academic materials (collected articles from textbooks, journals, lab manuals, syllabi and other sources) put together by the instructor. Typically they are less expensive than textbooks.

Resolution

1. The USD Online Bookstore run by Akademos by VitalSource offers a Coursepack Tool that can be used by Instructors
2. Go to Verba Collect
3. Click the course you want to add materials to
4. Click the course you want to create a coursepack for
5. Select Add Materials
6. Select Add Coursepack
7. Add Coursepack title
8. You can find existing coursepacks by searching on the Add New Materials tab.
9. To create a new coursepack, use one of the online bookstore's coursepack partners, LAD or Coursepack Etc.
