Smart AC Adapter Having Issues

My computer says the smart AC adapter is having issues

Error: HP Smart Adapter.  The Smart AC Adapter connected is not functioning correctly.  Please replace with a functioning Smart AC Adapter.

Environment

  • HP Laptop
  • HP AC Adapter

Cause

Bad power adapter

Power adapter not fully connected

Resolution

  1. Reseat the AC power adapter
  2. If still not working, replace the AC adapter
