Importing Data into Qualtrics Survey

Issue/Question

Need to import data file into a Qualtrics survey from Psychdata

Environment

• Qualtrics
• Excel

Cause

USD chose Qualtrics to replace all other survey software on campus

Resolution

1. Logon to Qualtrics
2. Click Project
3. Click Survey that data is to be imported into
4. Click Data & Analysis
5. Click Export & Import
6. Click Import Data
7. Click Browse and select the.csv file created from the PsychData data
   Note: This can be in CSV, TSV, or TXT format
8. Select the proper delimiter, which should be comma for data coming from PsychData
   Note: Select proper delimiter if coming from another survey software
9. Click Upload
10. Configure the Import dialog box pops up
    1. Click More Options at the bottom of the screen
    2. Type a value into the Responses start at row number field, so it will ignore headings above that row, and only look at data rows
    3. Select central time zone
    4. Select proper date/time format for your file, example MM/DD/YYYY H:MM  - this must match or it will not import
    5. Now go through each field
       1. Map the data to the correct field or mark it as Ignore column if you have no data for that field
    6. Click Import
