Granting Permission to View Email Folders

How do I provide access to another user to view specific Outlook email folders

Environment

  • Outlook

Resolution

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Navigate to folder you want to share
  3. Right click on folder
  4. Click Properties
  5. Click Permissions
  6. Click Add
  7. Search for user
  8. Double click user
  9. Click OK
  10. Set desired permission level
  11. Folder visible
  12. Click OK
  13. If the desired folder is inside another folder, repeat the above steps for the containing folder
  14. Repeat the process for the main folder - EX first.last@usd.edu
  15. User that has been granted permissions will need to follow Viewing a Shared Email Folder in Outlook
