How Do I Remotely Get Volume/Sound on My Laptop

Issue/Question

When I am on VPN and logged in remotely to my desktop at work I don't have sound on my laptop at home.

Environment

• Cicso Anyconnect (VPN)
• Remote Desktop (RDT)

Cause

Settings in RDP need to be changed

Resolution

Note:  You need to be connected to VPN before performing the steps

1. Open Remote Desktop 
2. Click Show Options
3. Select Local Resources tab
4. Click Settings - Remote Audio
5. Select Play on this computer
6. Click OK
7. Click More... - Local devices and resources
8. Click Ports
9. Click Video capture devices
10. Click Other supported Plug and Play (PNP) devices
11. Click OK
12. Click General tab
13. Click Save
14. Click Connect
