Enabling Polling Participants in Zoom

Issue/Question

How do I enable Polling in Zoom?

Environment

  • Zoom

Cause

I would like to Poll students in Zoom meeting

Resolution

Note: The HOST is the only one able to create Polls.
Co-Hosts and Alternative-Hosts can start a poll that has been created by the Host.

  1. Log in to Zoom
  2. Click Sign in
  3. Sign in with your USD credentials
  4. Click Settings on the left side of the screen
  5. Click in Meeting (Basic)
  6. Click the gray radio button next to Polling
Note: The radio button will turn blue.  If the radio button is already blue, Breakout Rooms are already enabled.
  7. If you don't see this option it is possible you are not a licensed user.  Faculty and Staff accounts are licensed by default, student accounts are not.  If you need to request a licensed account please contact the Service Desk with the following information:
    1. Full Name
    2. Reason a licensed account is needed

Note: Zoom from D2L does have the ability to import a Poll from a .csv file. Zoom from Zoom app does not allow .csv import.

ITS STAFF ONLY
