Auditing for OneDrive

Why would I want to turn on Auditing for my OneDrive site?

Environment

  • OneDrive

Cause

It enables you to have a record of who you have shared documents with.

Resolution

  1. Log into OneDrive 
  2. Click  in upper right hand corner
  3. Click Site Settings
  4. Go to the heading for Site Collection Administration
    1. Click Site Collection Features
    2. Scroll down to Reporting and click Activate
  5. Go back to the heading for Site Collection Administration
    1. Click on Site Collection Audit Settings 
    2. Specify which things to audit. 
      Note:  ITS recommends you check all of the boxes under Documents and Items and Lists, Libraries, and Sites
    3. Click OK
  6. To create a report,
    1. Click Site Collection Administration
    2. Click Audit Log Reports
