Audio/Video Production Equipment Not Working Over Fiber

Issue/Question

Audio/Video equipment is not working over fiber from a remote location to the main production room

Environment

• Fiber Optic
• Athletics

Cause

Mismatched types of fiber and/or Small Form-factor Pluggables (SFPs) being used

Resolution

1. Ensure correct SFPs and patch cables are being used (multimode vs. singlemode)
2. Switch the transmit/receive fiber pair on one end
3.  Please contact the Service Desk with the following information: 
   1. The last time this worked properly
   2. Location of each end
