Cause

Microsoft Workplace Discount Program for Office 365 is a cloud-based subscription service that allows you to easily create and securely share your documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with all the premium apps you know and trust.

Resolution

Note: The Microsoft Workplace Discount Program does not include the Windows operating system

  1. What's included in the Office 365 Workplace Discount Program
    • Share with your household – for up to 6 people
    • Premium versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access
      Note: OneNote, Access, and Publisher are available for Windows computers only
    • For use on multiple PCs/Macs, tablets, and phones, including Windows, iOS, and Android
    • 1 TB OneDrive cloud storage per person
      Note:  This is not included in the Free Office 365 available with your USD account
    • Securely sync and share
    • Collaborate on documents with others online
  2. Microsoft Home Use Program
    1. Sign up -
      1. Visit the Microsoft Workplace Discount Program
      2. Enter your university email address
      3. Click Get Started button.
      4. A confirmation email will be sent with a link that will authenticate your eligibility
    2. Sign in -
      1. Provide your personal Microsoft Account email address, allowing you to view the discounts on products available based on USD’s Workplace Discount Program benefit. 
        Note: if you receive a message that Microsoft account doesn't exist click Create One!
    3. Shop -
      1. Your purchase is processed and completed in the Microsoft Store and you can install Office 365 on your personal devices
