Environment
Cause
Books need to be adopted to the course
Resolution
Note: Adoptions are now taking place through Verba Collect.
- Go to Verba Collect
- Click the blue sign in button stating Continue with your University of South Dakota login
Note: the USD Single Sign On page appears
- Sign in using your USD credentials, if you are already signed in, you may not be asked to do this
- The first time you sign in, accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
- Click Continue
- Courses that are listed in Banner are automatically loaded to the Verba Collect
- To adopt materials, follow How to Adopt Course Materials in Collect (Quick Guide) or How to Adopt Course Materials in Collect (Full Walkthrough with Videos)
Note: the ISBNs should still be added to D2L
- If a course pack is needed, follow Creating a Course Pack
- If First Day Access Materials (FDAs) are needed follow: Adding First Day Access Materials (FDAs) to the Online Bookstore
- Please note the deadlines for adding books sent to you by USD Academic Affairs
- This is necessary so that Akademos by VitalSource/Textbookx can verify all materials are available and in sufficient supply for our courses
- This also helps them find the best prices for our students
- If no materials are needed, indicate in the adoption portal; otherwise, students will see the message Course items for this class have not yet been submitted by your instructor. Please check back.
Note: After the deadline, the site is set to read-only mode. If you are unable to complete your adoption, email Akademos by VitalSource at adoptions@vitalsource.com, Department Chairs or their approved admins (reviewers) to enter late adoptions.
